I’m typically speaking about myself when I use the phrase fuzzy around the edges but not this time. While I have a wonderful eye for quality photo opps, my actual talent at executing said shots could be put on level with that of the Blair Witch Project. Probably less.
Although I am photographically challenged, I’ve playing around with the camera on my new(ish) Google Pixel XL phone to see if it can overcome my human limitations. I have been rather wowed with the results and wanted to share for any other shakey-handed Sallies out there who might be in the market for a phone in the near future.

I am intrigued with the mixed levels of focus in this shot. The only areas in focus are the ones that were actually moving. This spinner was turning wildly when I took the picture.

The front was rolling in very quickly, and it was almost totally dark.

I took this picture while looking up at the branch that was 20+ feet above me. I was standing in its shadow, and the sun was shining from behind it (because getting the sun to shine from beneath the branch seemed to be definitive no as the sun doesn’t work like that). The camera still picked up the detail of the bark.

It’s a lovely shot (if I may say so myself), but the truly impressive detail is that it was taken from a car window while bumping down a little highway at 70 miles per hour.
This week’s photo challenge is to show your favorite in-focus and out-of-focus moments. Click below for instructions on how to share your awesomeness with your fellow WordPeeps.

Wow lovely photos… I have to buy a good camera phone within a medium budget… I am quite careless at work…

I drop my phone ten times a day. It’s not intentional. I’m just goofy like that. I broke my zag screen protector two days after I put it on. I broke the free replacement three days after that replacement. I have warranties on everything under the sun, so it’s fine. I just wish that I wasn’t such a goofball with my phone! How does the phone situation work with your job?? Does it stay in your pocket? Can you candy crush the time away? 😉
Jun 20, 2017 @ 06:29:19
Hahaha no candy crush.. I keep it on the anaesthesia work station and I have no idea how it survives the day… Then I clean away all the stuff spilt on the screen
Jun 22, 2017 @ 06:30:08
I do not even want to know what gets spilt on the screen! Do you focus on specific surgery types or do you go wherever you are needed? I would think that you would have seen it all in that kind of field.
Jun 22, 2017 @ 06:32:10
I have seen it all… But I prefer orthopaedic and paediatric and general surgery which includes stomach area. Jo I work few surgeons who are my classmates so I get to boss them… And yes I have had splatters of every fluid of the body you can think of…

Two words – zip loc. Ok – it’s really one word and maybe that’s just a local brand. However I think it would be ideal to invest in a throw away plastic cover for the phone so you won’t be rubbing ebola on your ear! 😉
Jun 22, 2017 @ 06:59:49
Hehehe… Nothing comes on my fone except some intravenous medications.. But on me, been there, done that…
I don’t think ebola is present in india so I am cool with the others… But I do take a lot of precautions… But 20years in this, fluids are a part of it… You should know you are a mom… Same thing different fields
Jun 22, 2017 @ 07:07:52
Being a mom and being a germaphobe do not make for an ideal combo, but you kinda go into business mode and do whatever you have to do. The difference is that I know and (usually) like these small people (most days). 😉 I have no doubt that you are a very kind anesthesiologist. Drummers set the beat for songs, and I feel like anesthesiologists do the same. Truly. It’s amazing how powerful it is when you treat them with kindness and sensitivity. You have such an amazing job, and you bestow such a tremendous blessing each time you allow someone to feel like you will keep them safe. Lovely work sweet girl (even when it’s anything but lovely while it happens). 🙂

I understand… Thank you for your kinds words.. Jo I like simple things.. Patient happy says thank you, I am flying high whole day… And that is work
At home, my parents, my sister and her family, they laugh with me… I am happy… Rest is all surplus.. This is all I need to live

I think your more photally gifted than you let on.

My videos look like they are all shot during earthquakes. Apparently I was destined to create action sequences but I decided to pop out miniature humans instead. Alas the world will never see my great talents and thus perfectly good barf bags will remain forever untouched.

It’s never too late

Yes but I must lock down that rap video dancer gig first. A girl’s gotta have her priorities.
